Karachi: Chemical Factory Catches Fire

A private chemical factory situated in Gul Bai area caught fire on night between Saturday and Sunday

According to details, Metatax Factory situated in Gul Bai area caught fire around 12:30am and quickly engulfed the 5-storey building.

Fire tenders across the city were called in to bring the blaze under control but the fire spread rapidly. Fire-fighting officials declared the fire as a third degree inferno.

Explosions were also heard when huge quantity of chemicals stored in the factory caught fire. Parts of the 5-storey factory also collapsed due to intensity of the fire.

No one was hurt in the inferno as factory was closed for Eid-ul-Azha holidays. The fore could not be brought under control till filing of this report.
