PIAF alliance wins LCCI election’s first phase

LAHORE: The PIAF-Founders Alliance on Wednesday made clean sweep by winning all the 7 seats of Corporate Class in Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) election 2012-13.

Mian Tariq Rehman, Farooq Iftikhar, Tanvir Ahmad Sufi, Ibrar Ahmad, Mumshad Ali, Chaudhry Iftikhar Bashir and Tasharraf Javed were elected.In the second phase polling for 8 seat of Associate Class would held on Thursday, September 20.Out of total 2120 registered voters of corporate class, only 816 votes were polled out showing a very low turn out at 38.49 percent, also 8 votes were rejected due to technical reasons.

PIAF-Founder Alliance got 570 panel votes, winning support of 26.88 percent voters while the Azad Progressive Group got 96 panel votes, support of only 4.5 percent registered voters.The final results will be announced on September 29 in scheduled Annual General Meeting. – Dailytimes
