DERA GHAZI KHAN: Rain once again began to lash the city on Monday morning while floodwater developed breach in Dera Ghazi Khan canal, inundating half of the city.

Meanwhile, floodwater has also started entering Rajinpur and Tonsa Sharif, irking dwellers of the region.In Dera Ghazi Khan, Public Health Department’s office, Railway Road, Border Military Police Line, Indus Colony among various areas have came under water of flood and rain.According to the Controller Rescue Team In-charge Muhammad Zubair, rescue teams are busy in shifting affected people to safer places while Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan claimed that the level of water is decreasing and thousands of people have been moved to safer places.

Widespread rain remained continued across the country, out rushing the nullahs of Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajinpur and Tonsa Shareef due to which floodwater is entering the residential areas of the city.Dera Ghazi Khan Administration has declared a state of emergency. The power supply to the city also got suspended.Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Tariq Mehmood said that the situation in the city was already predicted and relief operation is underway. He said that five thousand people have been shifted to safe places.

The flood and rainwater is entering the house located in Gao Shala, Railway Pali and their adjoining areas.The commissioner said that relief camps are working and affected people are being shifted to the camps set up in schools and colleges.Almost 400 people are still suffering the ills of flood and they will be rescued soon, he added. – Geonews
