Religious Ministry, PTV, PBC sign MOU for airing special Haj programmes

ISLAMABAD: Ministry for Religious Affairs signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), and Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) for telecast and broadcast of special programmes related to coming Hajj. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khursheed Shah also attended the ceremony. Secretary Religious Affairs Shaukat Durrani was also present there.Joint Secretary Religious Affairs Shahzad Ahmed, MD PTV Yusuf Baig Mirza and Director General PBC Murtaza Solungi inked the MOU.According to the MOU, the PTV and PBC would air special programmes, documentaries and talk shows to provide guidance to intending pilgrims about ritual of Hajj and their stay in the holy land.Under the agreement the Ministry of Religious Affairs would pay Rs 10 million and Rs 5 million to PTV and PBC respectively. – APP
