Army Chief Says Outstanding Success Achieved in Zarb-e-Azb

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Thursday said that outstanding success has been achieved in Zarb-e-Azb offensive against Taliban, adding that only secure Pakistan can be a prosperous Pakistan.

According to details, Army Chief visited Command and Staff College Quetta and addressed army officers.

He said that the security issues Pakistan faces are difficult and require long term struggle. He said traditional way and response is no longer applicable. General Sharif said that wars are not fought just by the armies but the whole nation’s efforts are accompanied. “Our war against terrorism is not just for today, but is for generations to come”, he said, adding that “only a secure Pakistan can become a prosperous Pakistan”.

Army Chief said in his address that great successes are being achieved in the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb offensive against terrorists in North Waziristan region. He said it is owing to the successes of the offensive that the citizens prepared themselves for conclusive battle to root out terrorism from Pakistan. General Sharif said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb provided an opportunity to political leadership to eliminate terrorism from the country once and for all. He said a political atmosphere to end terrorism is shaping up following the offensive.
