LAHORE: The Punjab chapter of Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) once again started a protest on Wednesday demanding that the government improve their service structure.
YDA members staged a protest and sit-in outside Services Hospital on Jail Road, blocking traffic for hours. They shouted slogans against the provincial government and warned they would continue protesting if a new service structure was not introduced.
The protest, which lasted for at least for two hours, posed problems for commuters on the otherwise busy Jail Road. Long queues of vehicles were seen on the road as patients also faced problems in getting medical relief on time. This was not the first time young doctors had taken to streets in protest against what they called “poor” service structures.Similar protests were also reported at Allied Hospital Faisalabad and Nishtar Hospital Multan. – Dailytimes
