Marion Cotillard almost gave up acting when she found herself in a work rut.
The actress has enjoyed a successful and varied career in the movie industry and even won the covetable Academy Award for best actress in 2007, but she admitted there was a time when she became disillusioned with the roles she was offered.Marion contemplated doing something completely different to find fulfillment in her life, but a last minute offer to work with Tim Burton changed her mind.
‘Years ago, I almost stopped everything. I wasn’t pleased with my life. I wanted more powerful roles and I didn’t want what I was offered anymore. I didn’t want to wait, to be unhappy, to see wonderful roles I didn’t have access to just pass in front of me and to become bitter. And then, just as I told my agent I didn’t want to act anymore, I got a role in Tim Burton’s Big Fish,’ she told the French edition of Glamour magazine.
Marion also revealed the alternative life plan she was considering at the time.The French star said she was looking for a worthwhile cause to get involved with and thought about joining environmental organisation Greenpeace.’I wanted to devote my energy to something that will fulfill me, to do something completely different. I was thinking about working with Greenpeace. At that point, I felt my place was amongst them,’ she said. – MSN
