KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly (SA) on Tuesday unanimously passed a joint condemnation resolution against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for introducing horse trading and floor crossing in the Punjab Assembly. The resolution said: “This assembly expresses its deep concern over an attempt of the PML-N to introduce horse trading/floor crossing in the Punjab Assembly and condemns such act which is immoral and against the spirit and the principles of democratic values and the stability of the federation.”The MPAs of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), including Farheen Mughul, Aisha Khoso, Saleem Khurshid Khokhar, Dr Sikadar Ali Shoro, Rasheed Khan and Nadeem Maqbool tabled the joint condemnation resolution in the house.Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who came in the house during the speeches on the resolution, said the resolution was very important for the democracy and sovereignty of the country. He said the Sindh Assembly had passed first resolution for establishment of Pakistan and it was again going to pass another resolution for its survival. He said: “We – PPP, MQM and other coalition parties in Sindh government – differ on many issues, but we rejoined hands after a short time of opposition and are serving the province very well, so we also hope same from the PML-N in Punjab. He said: “Disturbing the things is very easy but to building them is very difficult, therefore, PML-N should rethink its decisions. He said that masses had given them a mandate to run the government for five years so they should serve them without creating any problem.Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq said the MQM had not signed the Charter of Democracy with the PPP but they were following its points but the signatory party PML-N had violated it.Minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani said Nawaz Sharif had done same in 90s and had bought parliamentarians on the payment of a heavy amount while many of them were shifted to Chhanga Manga.

He said: “Mian brothers are trying to derail the democracy because they are following the trends of the dictators.”MQM MPA Nadeem Maqbool described Mian brothers as agents of dictatorship and said they did not have any love with their country because they were only interested in their personal aims.Aisha Khoso, Saleem Khurshid Khokhar, Dr Sikandar Shoro, Rasheed Khan and others also talked on the resolution and said that if PML-N hatched any conspiracy for derailing the democratic system then they would respond them with full might.Later, Dr Sikandar Mandhro, who presided over the session, put the resolution, which was passed unanimously. The session was adjourned till 4th March – Dailytimes
