Chehlum of Salmaan Taseer held

LAHORE: A large number of people from different walks of life attended the Chehlum of former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer at his residence at Cavalry Ground on Sunday.Taseer’s widow, Aamna, his sons Shehryar, Shan and Shahbaz, daughters and sons-in-law Shoaib and Umar Salamat, close relatives and civil society members were present on the occasion.The attendants paid rich tributes to the late Punjab governor and said that he was a brave leader who worked hard to strengthen democracy and democratic norms in the country. They put a light on the life spent by Taseer, and prayed that may God rest the departed soul in peace.
